We have some exciting updates to share from the VettedBuddy engineering team. Traditional matchmaking on hiring platforms relies on keyword matching. If a client inputs "React Developer" and your profile says "Frontend Engineer (React)," you might get matched. But if you wrote "Next.js Specialist," standard keyword parsers miss the match.

To solve this, we are rolling out our new AI-Powered Semantic Matching Engine. This update represents a major leap forward in how we connect elite talent with high-impact client requests.

Keyword search is rigid and superficial. It treats skills as isolated strings rather than a semantic network of capabilities. It doesn't understand context, seniority, or adjacent technologies.

For example, if a client request asks for "someone who can build a high-performance web app with real-time sync," keyword search misses developers who list "WebSockets, RxJS, and edge rendering" unless they happen to write those exact words. This leads to missed opportunities for great freelancers and slower turnaround times for clients.

Our new engine maps profile descriptions, application bios, and portfolio links into a multidimensional vector space. It calculates semantic similarity between the unstructured text of a client's request and the detailed background of a freelancer.

• Experience depth: It analyzes descriptive context to gauge your actual familiarity with a tool rather than just listing it.
• Client brief translation: It converts unstructured client briefs (e.g. "We need a faster checkout page") into structural tech recommendations.

Because the algorithm uses semantic understanding, you no longer need to stuff your profile with a comma-separated list of keywords. Instead, write naturally and focus on outcomes.

2. Specify tools in context: Instead of listing "Postgres," write "Designed database schemas in PostgreSQL to handle high-frequency concurrent writes."
